So I was looking at the code, and it looks like you/he is using a built in blender function to clear the materials I think… which crashes the program. Here’s a file to test with, if you would be able to. But if I try to then “Remove All Material Slots” with your tool, I can get an instant Blender Crash, with no warnings or anything at all. I found if I send a mesh from 3DS Max as FBX, with Multi Materials/Multi Material Slots, all is good. I’ll echo what others have said, thank you for this Add-On, it’s awesome! I did however update the Clean Material Slots operator, so it now has an operator panel (like the other operators under Clean Slots).Īnd inspired by your script I added an operator to set the Auto Smooth Angle for multiple objects (It’s currently in the Dev-branch)! It might be a good idea to use that operator, but I’m not inclined to do that until it at least is in stable (or in a version that ships with a Blender version which has that…). (I also know some other add-on have added that operator, which might be the _material_slots operator). I saw that it was added as an commit last Wednesday (31st July), so maybe it will be included in 2.81!? And if I try to run _material_slots() (or _slot_remove() ) I get an error (“Could not be found”). I’m using the Stable version (from 30th July, so maybe not truly the “latest”) and can’t find it. This helped us to keep the core of Blender contributors together to work on 2.8.Īnd last but not least: special thanks to the community – the developers, documenters, bug reporters and reviewers – it is thanks to them that we can start this wonderful new era of Blender 2.Hi & that function a thing in an official build yet? Thanks goes to everyone who contributed to the Code Quest, the massively successful 3 month workshop in Blender Institute during spring 2018.Īnd we thank everyone who joined the Development Fund in 2nd half of 20. This enabled us to work on the viewport, Eevee, collections/layers, UI and tools redesign. Special thanks goes to Tangent Animation and Aleph Objects, who funded 4 additional developers to work full-time on Blender 2.8 during the crucial 2017 period. The people who work for the Foundation and Institute did a tremendous job to bring Blender is where is it nowadays. The Blender developer community is being supported by the organizational powers of Blender Foundation and its spin-off Blender Institute.
